Ganga Prem Hospice 2023

Ganga Prem Hospice (GPH)

The RF team were so pleased and inspired to see the wonderful work which the Ganga Prem Hospice team are continuing to do.

We were grateful to have met with and been shown around by Nani Ma, Chief Of Operations (COO) Pooja Dogra and lead palliative care doctor, Dr Taranjit.

The monthly oncology clinics (seeing approximately 60-70/month) in their Dehradun clinic satellite centre and Rishikesh outpatient clinic have continued.

They currently have 10 inpatients at the hospice (as young as 39 and including cases of vaginal cancer and oral cancer). Their fantastic outreach work continues with currently around 140 home visit patients.

GPH are also supporting these families in a much broader sense by helping to support education for children who have lost a parent or caregiver to cancer by finding donors for private school education or home tuition. They are looking for further support and funding for this.

It was also great to see GPHs continuing initiatives on how they can make their building more environmentally sustainable through irrigation, water recycling and solar panels.

We were pleased to hear that Nurse Shital’s training (sponsored by the Singal family, introduced via RF) was going well.

Matthew had the opportunity to see where his company’s donated laptops were being used and spoke with Poojaji about their IT requirements.

Rama Foundation continues to help with food packages for the vulnerable outreach patients’ families and with milk provision to the inpatients.
